Wishful Thinking
Everyone wishes they could rewind and relive their childhood,
Re-experience the best moments of their distant past,
To be carefree again; when everything was simpler.
As for me, what I miss most of all of my youth
Is when They were still my friends...
When They were there to cheer me up and protect me, truly...
I miss when They played fun games with me
And made me laugh; took walks with me and made me feel loved,
I miss when They helped me sleep at night and keep me company.
I miss when They didn't scream at me and watch me like a starving vulture...
I miss when They were gentle and kind,
When They didn't threaten me or intimidate me...

WHEN THE CURTAIN FALLS
One last time to entertain the audience tonight,
One last time to stand under the bright lights,
He loves their reaction filled with such adulation,
He was born to bring to life his own adaptation,
Tragedies or comedies, he made the theater his own,
But tonight, he exits stage left one last time alone,
And tomorrow the reviews won’t matter anymore,
He’s never felt this kind of fright up there before,
Butterflies, like the first time when he was a boy,
After all these years, though, he remains rather coy,
It’s what he loves, it’s all he has ever lived to do,
He can cite each performance through a
